Over the past 4 months the Storm of War server and website have undergone a number of important changes. Some of you will have noticed that the server has been pass-worded for some time. We are now ready to open the server back up to the Cliffs of Dover community. Firstly, please note that we have a new website and forums here; http://www.stormofwar.org The old website is now going to be re-directed to the new URL. The server itself has undergone a large number of important changes too, including;
Improved Player Stats, including "pilot career" tracking
Improved Bomber Stats
Squadron v Squadron stats
New realism features and target types within the missions
Downloadable / printable mission pdf briefing files for all Missions with target photos and maps
Player controlled mission rotation
New RADAR and aircraft tracking systems (both in-game and on the website)
Friendly aircraft tracking system to assist bomber/fighter escorting
Missions that provide safe spawns for Bomber pilots
Luftwaffe Directional Beacons
AI aircraft with scaling features
And more...
To explain most of the changes we have made, please watch these two YouTube videos . Video one : AND video two : We welcome all Cliffs of Dover players to the server and the new website, particularly those players who are members of online Squadrons. We would also love to welcome back players who have not played Cliffs of Dover for a while, and who might be looking for something new in the multi-player environment. Ora mi guardo i video, ma sicuramente è un'ottima alternativa visto anche il ping che con il server ATAG non è proprio il massimo.
Sono stato sul forum, ora scarico e stampo i vari briefing delle missioni e se possibile già stasera vado a fare un giro sul loro server, comunque mi pare di aver capito che sono presenti anche aerei AI.
p.s. Popale c'è la possibilità di registrare la squadriglia sul forum (penso non solo per le stats).

P.S. A proposito di volare ieri serta allucinante, dev'essere il periodo... Prima con i comandi del joystick e la nuova estensione ho fatto l'una e mezzo a bestemmiare sul nostro serve tra settaggi, test delle missioni nuove da addestramento e la linea adsl di casa singhiozza di brutto, poi ho provato a volare e il trackir di colpo è impazzito facendomi diventare scemo.. insomma non ne è andata bene una.
Speriamo di risucire a volare un pò più degnamente stasera.
Pensavo di spostare la disponibilità dal martedì al mercoledì, per lo meno evito di essere defenestrato dalla moglie.

OK, so here's the idea that I've been mulling over in my head for some time. Excuse the brain dump but I'm not sure I can format this in any coherent way.
Mission length to be 12hrs - in real time.
To be run at a weekend, possibly with 2 "events".
Only registered members can take part - there will be password on server, and username recognition
RL Squadrons will be linked to a specific ingame squadron for the campaign.
Ingame Squadrons will be based at a specific airfield and can only spawn at that airfield
AI "raid" packages can be created via the web UI including fighters
Aircraft limits will be in place, and tied to squadrons. Each unit will have historical numbers available to begin with. Losing aircraft will have an impact.
replacements will be available to allocate via the web UI, and will be flown by players from depot airfield to their home airfield.
raf will have fully functioning RDF, LW will have limited Freya system.
persistent damage, airfields can be knocked out, RDF rendered out of action, factories and docks destroyed which have consequences.
raf will be able to use web UI to create ai patrols.
all aircraft will exist on the map. If they're not being flown, they're on the ground vulnerable.
aircraft returned to home airfield can fly again. Aircraft landed at friendly non home airfield must either be flown back by ai, or a suitable wait time to simulate this (depends in ai ability to take off and land)
aircraft crash landing in friendly territory will go into a workshop queue and be returned to the spawn pool after a delay.
squadrons wanting to move base will a)have to find a base with vacant room (bases are going to have a capacity of squadrons) and b) have to register the move via the web UI. Once landing at their new base, their home has moved.
aircraft losses and limits apply to ai too.
LW will only be able to launch raids against a few targets at any one time. We only have c100 players on server, would be too easy to allow LW to hit anything they liked. Will have to register via web UI what the targets for the day are.
limited raf offensive role for Blenheim pilots. Possibly anti invasion barge raids, interdictions of supply columns etc.
